Imagine doing your Windows updates, like a good boy, when suddenly you get this nice little error.<\/p>\n

An authentication error has occurred.
\nThe function requested is not supported.
\nRemote computer : <insert remote desktop server name><\/p>\n

This could be due to CredSSP encryption oracle remediation.

What happened ?<\/p>\n

Microsoft has patched a security thingie, recently on all recent server OS’es.
\nEvery good citizen, using the default Remote Desktop software, has a big chance to be screwed.<\/p>\n

Quick fix –><\/p>\n

Create a DWORD registry entry as follows :<\/p>\n

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System\\CredSSP\\Parameters] “AllowEncryptionOracle”=dword:00000002<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Even more “lazy mode” –><\/p>\n

Download and unzip credssp file.<\/a><\/p>\n

Doubleclick the REG file after unzipping.<\/p>\n
